Busy Mind!

So, I just started an audiobook called "Get out of your head" by Jennie Allen. This is really setting your girl free, or at least I hope I allow it to set me free. The book is focusing on the busyness of our mind and how we are at times are slaves to our own thoughts. We have so many thoughts in our minds each day. Jennie tells us that we have about 30,000 thoughts per day. Most of those thoughts that we think each day are NEGATIVE. What has happened to all of our positivity? We are children of God and heirs of the throne. We are born with joy that no one or nothing in the world can take away from us. Why are we so overwhelmed with thoughts and why are our thoughts gravitating to negativity? I wish I had the answer to this because I would surely turn it off.

I believe life and society have us full of fear. We fear how people perceive us. We fear failure. We fear not having enough or being enough. We fear never finding love. We fear sickness/death. We fear something happening to our loved ones. We fear having financial struggles. We fear Covid-19. We are just full of fear. Most of us call this ANXIETY. My anxiety has literally been through the roof. Covid-19 has me like a crazy person. I'm afraid to go anywhere and do anything. If you don't go anywhere and do anything, then you're a crazy person because you've been in the house too long. God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind. My mind AIN'T sound. At all. How do we go about finding peace in such a chaotic world? How do we go about finding peace in the midst of storms or in the midst of this crazy pandemic? The answer is really simple: REST in HIM. Simple, right? LOL. We literally have to cling to our faith in knowing that GOD. WILL. TAKE. CARE. OF. US. PERIOD! We have to go to his word when we get discouraged and find the words that say "He will never leave us or forsake us. " We have to cling to the words "We can do all things through Christ that gives us strength." We have to hide words in our hearts like, "All things work together for the good of those who love God who are called according to his purpose." His word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths. He will guide us through EVERY SITUATION. I didn't say he will guide us through SOME situations, I said EVERY situation. We have to believe that he CAN then he WILL! He's gotten me through some difficult and dark seasons. Only his word and his comfort have gotten me through. Lean on him. Take EVERYTHING TO GOD IN PRAYER. Oh what peace we often forfeit and, oh what needless pain we bear because we don't take EVERYTHING to God in prayer.

Prayer: God unclutter our thoughts. Give us a paradigm shift in what we see and what we think. Change our negative perceptions into positives ones. Help us to find light in every situation whether good or bad. Help us to lean on you in difficult times. Keep our eyes fixed on you, for you are who our help comes from. Help us know that anxiety and fear is not of God. You are the orchestrator of peace and joy. We embrace peace and joy today; for we know the world didn't give it to us so the world can't take it away. We count it done in Jesus' matchless name. The name above EVERY NAME AND EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE! AMEN.
